Teaching Idioms

The word ‘idiom’ is described in Oxford Advanced learner’s dictionary as a group of words whose meaning is different from the meaning of the individual words. Idioms are after used by native speakers in their oral and written communication. Besides, idioms are immensely used in Newspapers and Magazines. But non-native speakers find it difficult to understand these idioms. The present paper discusses the importance of idioms and lists various activities of help students Comprehend and use idiomatic expressions in English. More
