A mentoring relationship is a close, individual relationship that develops over time between a graduate student and a faculty member and that including both caring and guidance. Good listening ability is necessary for mentor to listen and understand the situation. A mentor is a midway position between a teacher and a boss. It is some one who helps more by way of example and able to manage people well and supervise their work to see if they are on right track. It is the primary means for one generation of scientist to impact their knowledge to succeeding generations. Mentoring is not part of journey but it I is a life long journey. It should be in the form of encouraging, Reminding the mistakes, sharing a negative experience. More |
