A mentoring relationship is a close, individual relationship that develops over time between a graduate student and a faculty member and that including both caring and guidance. Good listening ability is necessary for mentor to listen and understand the situation. A mentor is a midway position between a teacher and a boss. It is some one who helps more by way of example and able to manage people well and supervise their work to see if they are on right track.
