The Role of Culturology in Language Teaching and learning

Culture and language are two inseparable sides of human communication system which enables human beings to communicate with each others as social creatures. In other words, a language of one society reflects the culture; people can use correct, suitable and appropriate states, forms and norms of one-language expressions. The acquisition of one language (mother tongue) is done through or with culture, and it causes to form one of human language properties as “Culture transmission”. The knowledge of second or foreign language culture can be helpful and useful for one learner to understand the reality and content of that second or foreign language which is applied in reading comprehension, conversation and so on. English as an international language is a language, which is not taught with its culture to the learners, and unfortunately, most of the English teachers are familiar with English language culture perfectly. More
